The Projects Development Institute (PRODA), under the Federal Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation, has announced the commencement of implementing its 2025 Capital Budget alongside the extended 2024 Capital Budget.
In a statement, PRODA said the execution of capital projects will follow a warrant-driven arrangement, in line with the Federal Government’s revised Cash Management Policy aimed at promoting accountability and preventing unsustainable debt accumulation.
All contractors engaged under the 2024 and 2025 Capital Budgets were reminded that no project should commence without a valid Authority to Incur Expenditure (A.I.E.) and warrants issued by PRODA. Mobilisation to sites without such approvals is prohibited, and the institute will not be liable for payments on unauthorised works.
The directive aligns with guidelines from the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation. PRODA urged all contractors to comply strictly with the warrant-based implementation framework to ensure the successful delivery of impactful national projects.
