A video has surfaced online showing a woman allegedly caught writing the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) examination for Taraba State Commissioner for Finance, Sarah Enoch Adi.
In the footage, examination supervisors confronted the suspect, who identified herself as Leavitt Felix. According to reports, she admitted she was sitting the paper on behalf of Adi, whose details appeared on the examination records.
When probed for her own identity, Felix responded with her name but later claimed she was contracted by a man identified only as “Joshua.”
Supervisors pointed out discrepancies between her statements and the information in ICAN’s system, warning they would escalate the case to law enforcement if she failed to provide full disclosure.
The development adds to mounting controversy around Adi, who has faced recent calls for removal. In August, Taraba civil servants urged Governor Agbu Kefas to sack both the state’s Accountant General, Gauis Danjuma, and Adi over alleged irregularities in a biometric verification exercise that reportedly resulted in the removal of over 7,000 workers from the payroll.
Appointed Commissioner for Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning in 2023, Adi is a career accountant with degrees from Plateau State Polytechnic, Kaduna State Polytechnic, Ahmadu Bello University, and a doctorate from Nasarawa State University.
