Redeemer’s University, Ede, Osun, has inducted 74 graduates into the physiotherapy profession during its 3rd induction ceremony for the Bachelor of Physiotherapy Class of 2025.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Shadrach Akindele urged the inductees to use their training to save lives and positively impact Nigeria’s healthcare sector, emphasising the theme: “The Journey to Good Health: From Classroom to the World.”
He encouraged them to uphold the university’s values and serve as ambassadors of Christ in their profession.
Keynote speaker Prof. Chris Okafor of the University of Lagos traced physiotherapy’s evolution in Nigeria from a three-year diploma in 1945 to the current six-year Doctor of Physiotherapy programme.
He advised the graduates to pursue further knowledge abroad and return to train others, stressing the importance of self-assessment and resilience in facing challenges.
Other speakers, including Dr Dayo Omotoso and Dr Olusegun Ojedoyin, urged the graduates to remain patriotic, professionally committed, and good representatives of the university.
Prof. Ahmad Rufia, Registrar of the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria, administered the oath, charging the inductees to be exemplary ambassadors of the profession.
