Seyi Tinubu Denies Involvement in Alleged Attack on NANS President

Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, has denied allegations linking him to the assault and abduction of the President of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), Comrade Atiku Isah.

Comrade Isah, while addressing a press conference on Wednesday in Abuja, accused Seyi Tinubu and the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, of offering him an N100 million bribe in Lagos to support the President.

According to him, he rejected the offer, stating that he could not promote a government that had failed to fulfil its promises.

Isah further alleged that after he turned down the bribe, he was attacked and kidnapped by hoodlums on April 15.

He also claimed that thugs loyal to Seyi Tinubu stormed the Wells Carlton Hotel in Asokoro during the inauguration of the students’ body, wielding cutlasses and firearms.

The student leader said the attackers stabbed guests, stole property, and caused dignitaries like former governors of Kano and Kogi States, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau and Idris Wada, to flee the scene.

He said, “I was abducted on April 15. I was stripped naked and seriously beaten. They threatened to release a video. They told me nothing would happen if they released the video, and even if they killed me, Seyi Tinubu would order a cover-up. I made it clear that even if I were shot, I would still come to this hall. The inauguration proceeded, and I was announced as President. I want Nigerians to know what happened and that we will not give up. Seyi Tinubu can do anything he wants, but we are determined.”

In reaction, posted on his Instagram stories on Friday, Seyi Tinubu described the allegations as false and aimed at tarnishing his reputation.

He denied meeting or speaking with Comrade Isah or being involved in the alleged incident.

He said, “Wow… how can someone lie with so much confidence? An attempt to defame my character. May God be with you, Comrade Atiku Isah.” He added, “I have never held a meeting to discuss any subject matter with Comrade Isah in Lagos or anywhere else. I have never knowingly met him, nor did I visit any location with thugs.”
