The Sokoto State Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education has begun a statewide school supervision exercise to monitor the implementation of ongoing step-down training for teachers and administrators.
The initiative, which was flagged off on Wednesday by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Professor A. L. Ala, aims to ensure that educational standards are being met across the state. Three supervisory teams, comprising directors from the ministry and its parastatals, were deployed to various schools.
One of the teams, led by Abubakar Umar Salame, the Director of Administration, visited several institutions, including Sultan Bello Secondary School (SBSS), Turaki Basic, and GGMSS Illela, among others.
During the visit, Sultan Bello Secondary School was noted for its full compliance with the training objectives, earning it recognition as the top-performing school in implementation. Turaki Basic and MAGAS Maruda also showed strong performance, while other schools visited assured the supervisory teams that their training sessions would begin in the coming days.
