Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund)
The Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund) reports continued traction in its student loan programme, confirming that 788,947 beneficiaries have been approved from a total of 1,193,228 applications since launch. The agency released the figures in new data sheets shared on its official platforms.
According to the update, 3,367 fresh applications were submitted the previous day, while 262 tertiary institutions have received cumulative tuition disbursements of ₦82.34 billion as of November 12, 2025. An additional ₦58.53 billion has been paid directly to students as upkeep allowances, bringing total loan disbursements to ₦140.88 billion.
NELFund’s weekly summary for November 24-30 shows that 35,773 applications were completed during the week, though the overall application figure remains unchanged at 1,193,228.
The agency reiterated that both tuition and upkeep payments continue to support students across 262 institutions nationwide.
