The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Parallex Bank Limited, Dr Olufemi Bakre, has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Faculty of Arts, University of Lagos, in recognition of his leadership and contribution to Nigeria’s banking industry.
The award was presented during the faculty’s 60th anniversary celebration at the university’s main auditorium, which drew prominent personalities and alumni, including the Adeboruwa of Igbogbo, Oba Abdulsemiu Orimadegun Kasali; former Lagos State Permanent Secretary, Chief Tunde Fanimokun; and the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Folasade Ogunsola.
Dr Bakre, an alumnus of the university, was praised for steering Parallex Bank from inception to profitability in less than three years and for fostering innovation and customer-focused banking.
In his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to UNILAG for the recognition and dedicated the honour to the Parallex Bank team, reaffirming his commitment to ethical leadership and nation-building.
Other honourees included Chief Fanimokun and several distinguished alumni recognised for their contributions to education, governance, and national development.
