The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has dismissed claims that recent cases of examination malpractice flagged during its 2025/2026 Post-UTME screening exercise were caused by technical glitches.
In a statement, the institution explained that the flagged cases were based on “clear violations of established examination guidelines,” detected through multiple monitoring mechanisms, including secure video surveillance.
The university stressed that, in compliance with existing laws and data protection standards, uncensored video recordings of the exercise would not be released to the public. However, it noted that anonymised screenshots may be published to illustrate the nature of the violations under review.
UNILAG further advised candidates to disregard information circulating on unauthorised platforms and rely only on updates issued through the university’s official communication channels.
Reaffirming its stance, the management said it “remains unwaveringly committed to integrity, fairness, and transparency in the admissions process” and urged applicants to ignore misinformation.
