The University of Lagos has pledged continued collaboration with security agencies to maintain a safe campus environment following a courtesy visit by the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Area C Command, Lagos State.
The delegation, led by the PCRC’s South-West Vice Chairman, Prince Sunny Yemi Adenowo, and Area C Chairman, Rotarian Akibu Bankole, visited the institution on Tuesday on the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
Received by Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Professor Muyiwa Falaiye, the team commended UNILAG’s efforts in maintaining a crime-free campus. It proposed joint programmes on security awareness and crime prevention. They also sought the university’s support in hosting a South-West Youth Security Summit in 2026.
Professor Falaiye assured the delegation of the university’s readiness to collaborate, noting its 24-hour surveillance system and integrated security architecture. He suggested establishing a PCRC branch within the university community to further strengthen ties.
The visit highlights UNILAG’s drive to deepen partnerships with stakeholders on youth safety and community peace.
