UNILAG to Host First Muslim Economic Summit

Lagos will host the maiden Muslim Economic Summit at the University of Lagos’ DIL Main Auditorium from January 17 to 18, 2026, organisers announced.

Themed “Faith, Finance & the Future: Empowering Youths, Women & Businesses for a Prosperous Future,” the summit aims to promote economic growth and innovation rooted in ethical, faith-based principles.

President of the Muassasat Nasrul Ilm Wa Da’awat Foundation, Alhaji Ibraheem Adigun, stated that the summit aims to cultivate a new generation of Muslim entrepreneurs and professionals who are capable of competing globally while upholding Islamic values.

“This is about building a future where no one is left behind,” Adigun said, urging youths, women, and business owners to seize the opportunity for transformation.

A key feature of the summit is a Pre-Summit Empowerment Training Programme for over 1,000 youths and women in digital marketing, solar installation, mini-import/export, and urban farming.

Participants will receive certificates during the summit, marking the start of their journey toward financial independence and ethical entrepreneurship.
