Unilorin Showcases Alumni Championing Higher Education

The University of Ilorin has spotlighted Tosin Adeoti, one of its distinguished alumni, for his contributions to higher education and youth employability across Nigeria and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Adeoti, a programme and project management professional with 15 years of cross-sectoral experience, holds a master’s degree in International Affairs and Development (with Distinction) and certifications in PMP, PRINCE2, and Scaled Scrum Master.

He has managed large-scale initiatives supported by the United Nations Development Programme, the European Union and the United States African Development Foundation, focusing on expanding access to quality education, building employability, and strengthening public-private partnerships.

Before joining the British Council, Adeoti led the USADF-LSETF Employability Programme, a $20 million, ten-year initiative creating jobs and entrepreneurship opportunities for 25,000 young Nigerians. He also played key roles in vocational training and education infrastructure projects in the Niger Delta, supporting more than 5,000 youths into paid employment.

A registered civil engineer and certified Master Trainer, Adeoti currently serves as Programme Manager, Higher Education – Nigeria, at the British Council. He oversees the Study UK campaign, alumni engagement and institutional partnerships while advocating for inclusive development and lifelong learning.
