Baba Shettima Kukawa, President of the Abuja Chapter of UNIMAID Alumni Forum
The University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID) Alumni Forum, Abuja Chapter, has called on graduates living in the capital to unite and actively engage with their alma mater to benefit both the institution and its students.
President of the Abuja Chapter, Shettima Kukawa, appealed during the forum’s 2025 quarterly walk-out and networking event, tagged “Re-Awakening 2.0.”
He emphasised that the initiative aims to build the alumni network and foster unity among members who, in many cases, have not met for 10 to 20 years. “It is only when we come together that we can make a meaningful impact on the university and its students,” Kukawa said.
The forum, now in its ninth edition, also serves as a platform for socialisation, professional networking, and reconnecting with fellow graduates. Secretary Maimuma Abdullahi described it as more than an exercise, highlighting its role in building cohesion among UNIMAID alumni in Abuja.
Former president Hamisu Medugu added that the effort seeks to strengthen relationships, promote unity, and ensure a lasting positive impact on the alumni community and the university.
