Union Bank of Nigeria co-sponsored the 11th edition of the Maltina Teacher of the Year Awards in Lagos, recognising outstanding secondary school teachers nationwide. The initiative is part of the bank’s Edu360 programme, which promotes teacher development, school infrastructure, digital literacy, and inclusive education.
Serah Yusuf, 31, from Wisdom International School of Excellence, Abuja, was named overall winner, receiving N10 million. First runner-up Adeola Olufunke Akinsulire of Omole Senior Grammar School, Lagos, won N5 million, while second runner-up Chibuzor Amarikwa of Deeper Life High School, Adamawa, received N3 million.
Olufunmilola Aluko, Union Bank’s chief brand and marketing officer, emphasised the bank’s commitment to uplifting educators and advancing quality education aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4.
