Conference of the National Association of Science Laboratory Technologists of Nigeria (NASLT), a milestone gathering aimed at advancing scientific practice and laboratory innovation in the country.
Opening the event, Pro-Chancellor Senator Mao Ohuabunwa emphasised the crucial role of science laboratory technologists in driving research, education, and industrial development in Nigeria. He noted that professional recognition, including the NASLT Act he sponsored, has helped standardise laboratory practices and raised the quality of scientific work nationwide.
The conference brings together national executives, fellows, and senior members of NASLT to share best practices, explore emerging trends in science and technology, and discuss policies for strengthening laboratory education and research.
Senator Ohuabunwa emphasised that platforms like the NASLT annual conference are vital for fostering innovation, capacity building, and collaboration between institutions and professional bodies. He pledged UNIPORT’s continued support for initiatives that enhance research, professional training, and scientific breakthroughs aligned with Nigeria’s development goals.
