The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a 300-level student identified as Cynthia Chukwundah for burning her 32-year-old lover, Sunny Amadi, to death.
The incident, which happened on Sunday, June 6, 2025, at a private residence in Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Port Harcourt, started as an argument.
Newsmen said the rift resulted from Chukwundah’s pregnancy claim. The Command said Chukwundah, who also suffered burns and is heavily pregnant, is receiving treatment but will give her statement when stable.
Olugbenga Adepoju, Commissioner of Police in the state, has implored the public to remain calm, stating that justice will be served.
