Renowned communications expert and CEO of SKOT Communications, Mrs. Tokunbo George-Taylor, has launched the SKOT Impact Academy, a tuition-free programme to train young professionals in public relations.
Speaking at the inauguration in Lagos, George-Taylor, who has over 31 years of experience, said the initiative was her way of giving back to the industry and helping newcomers bridge knowledge gaps.
“The SKOT Academy is a six-week tuition-free programme for professionals who want to grow with purpose and make an impact. My dream is to shape professionals into global storytellers and build a leading PR hub in Africa,” she said.
The first cohort, chosen from nearly 400 applicants, will begin classes on September 13 in Lagos. Participants will be trained every Saturday for six weeks on crisis management, storytelling, Artificial Intelligence, and other emerging communication trends. The programme will later expand to virtual and hybrid formats to reach participants across Nigeria and beyond.
