21 Universities Delay JAMB Vetting of Underage Scores

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed that 21 universities are yet to submit the Post-UTME results of underage candidates for vetting.

JAMB’s spokesperson, Fabian Benjamin, said despite an agreement and a September 15 deadline, the schools failed to forward the scores. Some of the institutions include the University of Lagos, Lagos State University, University of Abuja, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, University of Uyo, and the Federal University of Technology, Owerri.

In total, 71 universities were expected to submit results of candidates who sat for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). While most complied, 21 are still pending.

The board stressed that the delay could affect the assessment of affected candidates, even though NECO has already released the 2025 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) results. JAMB urged the universities to act quickly, warning that the integrity of the admission process depends on strict compliance with agreed timelines.
