The Nigeria Learning Passport (NLP), a digital platform established by UNICEF in partnership with the Federal Ministry of Education in Nigeria, is now helping children get quality education, especially in remote locations. With help from IHS Towers, 500 teachers in Abia State are now being trained to use the platform.
One of the trained teachers, Mrs. Chidinma Kalu from Ndibe Community School in Ohafia, said she is happy to help more pupils and teachers use the app on their phones, even without an internet connection. The NLP works online and offline, making it easy for students to keep learning anywhere. It has lessons for both primary and secondary school students, helping them stay in school and complete their education.
So far, over 888,000 people across Nigeria have signed up. UNICEF, in collaboration with companies such as Airtel and TECNO, is also providing devices, internet access, and digital training to help more children access a better education.
