Comrade Adeleke Wasiu Adewale has been elected the new Chairman of the Colleges of Education Academic Staff Union (COEASU), Federal College of Education (Special), Oyo. He takes over from Comrade Mathias Kolawole Oluwo, who previously led the union.
The election also produced new executives, including Comrade Ajao Ibrahim S. as Treasurer, Comrade David Monday Onoja as General Secretary, and Comrade Bakare Musbau Tope as Public Relations Officer.
The victory has been described as a fresh beginning for the union. In his congratulatory message, Chairman of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), Comrade Badmus Tolulope Adekunle, called Adeleke’s emergence “a new dawn” for both COEASU and the college.
He expressed confidence that the new leadership would promote dialogue, strengthen collaboration, and sustain industrial peace within the institution. For the college’s staff and students, the new COEASU executives are expected to play a key role in enhancing welfare and promoting harmony in the academic environment.
