AGILE Introduces Initiative for Promoting Girls’ Education

The Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project in Zamfara has advised parents and guardians to take advantage of its Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Programme. The initiative is meant to promote female education in Zamfara by enrolling adolescent girls in schools.

Hajiya Maryam Nadama, the head of the AGILE delegation, stated that the initiative aims to ensure girls complete their education.  Dr Rabiu Shehu, one of the facilitators raising awareness about the programme, emphasised that only students attending government schools are eligible to benefit from the initiative.  He added that girls moving to JSS1 or SS1 will be prioritised.
