Akwa Ibom Polytechnic Bans Students’ Sign-Out Celebration

– Bans on Students’ Sign-Out Celebration.

The management of Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osurua, has announced a ban on the popular “sign-out” fanfare usually organised by graduating students to mark their final days on campus.

In a circular signed by the Deputy Registrar (Students’ Affairs), Ibanga Nathaniel, the institution said it was “dismayed” by the celebrations, which it described as a violation of school rules and regulations.

The management noted that it had received complaints from professional bodies alleging abuse of their outfits during the events. It stressed that the activities were unacceptable and would no longer be tolerated. “Any student(s) found contravening this ban will face severe disciplinary action in accordance with the Polytechnic’s guidelines,” the statement read.

The Polytechnic urged all students and student groups to take note of the directive and comply strictly with it.
