Army, DSS Rescue Kidnapped Taraba Lecturer

Soldiers and DSS operatives have rescued a kidnapped lecturer from Taraba State University, Engineer Joshua Saleh. He was abducted on July 31 while travelling along the Chinkai–Kente–Wukari Road in Wukari, Taraba State.

The rescue took place after a joint operation by the Nigerian Army’s 6 Brigade and the Department of State Services (DSS). Acting on reliable information, the team searched key areas including Kente, Sondi, Yaku, and Warawa. During the operation, they met the kidnappers and exchanged gunfire. The criminals, unable to withstand the military pressure, ran away and left the lecturer behind. According to the Army spokesperson, Lieutenant Umar Muhammad, Engineer Saleh was rescued without any injuries. The military praised the effort as a bold and successful mission. This rescue is part of ongoing efforts to fight kidnapping and protect lives across the country.
