ASCON Director-GeneralGets Oxford Fellowship

The Director-General of the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Mrs Funke Adepoju, has been named the 2025/2026 AIG-Blavatnik Visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford’s Blavatnik School of Government.

Her selection places her among a select group of Nigerians who have held the fellowship, including former INEC Chairman Prof. Attahiru Jega and ex-FIRS Chairman Mrs Ifueko Omoigui-Okauru.

Adepoju, who is a seasoned administrator, is currently responsible for driving reforms at ASCON. The reforms are designed to reposition it as a national reform hub, transitioning from a traditional training school. Her leadership agenda focuses on linking capacity building to reform outcomes, embedding digital governance in public sector training, and aligning with Nigeria’s Federal Civil Service Strategy 2025, as well as the Renewed Hope agenda.

Reacting to the announcement, Adepoju described the fellowship as both a personal achievement and a national milestone, stressing that the opportunity would enable her to deepen reforms in Nigeria’s public service and share global best practices.
