The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has raised alarm over the delay in renegotiation with the Federal Government about issues affecting the education sector and university lecturers.
Speaking with newsmen, Prof. Chris Piwuna, ASUU President, said, “We are tired of words and promises. “Our efforts are frustrated by the government. It has been seven years since we started the renegotiation with the government. It has reached a point that something must give way.”
According to him, the decline in education quality in universities, cultism, staff demoralisation, and infrastructural decay can be addressed by “increased funding and improved remuneration” for the association members.
