Bowen University, Iwo, Osun State, has reached a significant milestone with 300 physiotherapists trained since the programme secured accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC) and the Medical Rehabilitation Therapists Board of Nigeria (MRTB).
Provost of the College of Health Sciences, Prof. O.T. Awotunde, made this known during the university’s 6th induction ceremony, where 68 new graduates took their MRTB oath as the Class of 2025.
He explained that the journey began in 2020 with 18 pioneer graduates, growing steadily to 35 in 2021, 62 in 2022, 53 in 2023, 64 in 2024, and now 68 this year. According to him, the consistent growth demonstrates Bowen’s increasing impact in producing professionals to meet both Nigerian and global healthcare needs.
Prof. Awotunde credited the success of the programme to dedicated lecturers, a supportive learning environment, and well-equipped facilities, stressing that Bowen remains committed to raising highly skilled healthcare practitioners for the future.
