Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, President and Chairman of the Governing Council of CIPM
The Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPM) inducted 1,261 new members at its 68th Induction Ceremony in Lagos, reiterating that practising HR without CIPM certification breaches Nigerian law.
President and Chairman of Council, Mallam Ahmed Ladan Gobir, FCIPM, FNLI, urged the inductees to uphold professional standards, emphasising that only certified practitioners are legally permitted to operate in Nigeria.
He also announced plans to delist non-financial members as of December 31, 2025, and encouraged affected members to renew their dues.
The ceremony, themed “Beyond Engagement to Fulfilment: Building a Culture that Nurtures Belonging and Purpose at Work,” stressed the importance of creating workplaces where employees experience engagement and meaning.
Guest lecturer Mr Kayode Abe, FCIPM, highlighted the distinction between engagement and fulfilment, noting that a fulfilled employee is nearly always highly engaged.
CIPM honoured the Best Graduating Students for 2025, with Ebenezer Sangokoya and David Moses Eyo receiving ₦500,000 and all-expense-paid trips to the 58th CIPM International Conference in Abuja.
The newly inducted members, comprising executive-route Full Members, Practitioner’s Route Associates, and examination-route Associates, now carry a national mandate to transform workplaces, champion certified HR practices, and promote cultures that prioritise trust, inclusion, and purpose.
