The Federal Government has launched the Diaspora BRIDGE Portal, a digital platform designed to link Nigerian academics and professionals in the diaspora with local universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and research institutes.
The platform enables diaspora experts to register as collaborators, submit their professional profiles, and engage in partnerships that align with Nigeria’s national development goals—particularly in education, research, innovation, and STEM-M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Medicine). Tertiary institutions in Nigeria can also register to identify institutional gaps and express interest in targeted collaborations. Key features include virtual seminars, e-learning modules, collaboration tracking tools, and searchable directories of registered experts and institutions.
According to the Ministry of Education, the initiative is aimed at bridging the human capital divide by fostering inclusive global partnerships that accelerate academic and technological growth across Nigeria’s education sector.
