The Federal College of Education, Ekiadolor (FCET Ekiadolor), has partnered with Retail Development and Investment Company Limited (RDIC), the owners of Iwemi Engine, to enhance academic visibility and embrace digital transformation.
The collaboration formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on May 1, 2025, will provide students and FCET Ekiadolor staff with new opportunities to publish academic content for global recognition.
The agreement includes the development of an indexing platform designed to simplify the retrieval of research materials within the college.
This platform will address the issue of project topic duplication and offer an accessible publishing press for academic textbooks, journals, theses, and dissertations.
Importantly, lecturers at FCET Ekiadolor can publish their work for free, benefiting from Iwemi’s royalty system.
Emmanuel Asagha, the Provost of FCET Ekiadolor, expressed his excitement over the partnership, noting its potential to foster academic excellence.
He stated the benefits of digitisation, including easier access to educational content, improved revenue generation for the college, and enhanced global visibility for academic work.
Asagha also encouraged members of the college community to take full advantage of the opportunities the partnership offers.
Tony Obaseki, the college’s librarian, shared his optimism about how this agreement could enhance its webometric ranking and international reputation.
He stated that FCET Ekiadolor strives to become a leader in academic innovation, immediately producing graduates equipped to impact various industries.
Ejimofor Akah, Project Director of Iwemi, expressed confidence in the partnership’s success and assured the college that RDIC would deliver quality services to ensure the initiative’s long-term success.
