The Federal Government has urged Nigerians to ignore false information circulating on social media about the newly revised school curricula.
In a statement on Thursday, the Executive Secretary of the Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC), Prof. Salisu Shehu, stated that the new Basic Education Curriculum (BEC) and Senior Secondary Education Curriculum (SSEC) are evidence-based, needs-driven, and aligned with global best practices.
He warned that distorted and fabricated claims about the curricula were aimed at misleading the public and stirring unnecessary emotions.
The Federal Ministry of Education had earlier announced the approval of the revised curricula, which are expected better to equip learners with skills for the modern world.
