The Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK) has directed all graduating students and prospective corps members to obtain clearance from the Nigeria Education Reposition and Databank (NERD) before participating in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) mobilisation.
The directive, issued by the Student Affairs Officer, Abdulhamid Muhammed Bima, on behalf of the Registrar, follows a new policy approved by the Federal Executive Council (FEC) and communicated by the NYSC on October 7, 2025. The policy, effective from Batch ‘C’ 2025, mandates NERD verification for all prospective corps members to ensure data integrity and curb academic record discrepancies.
According to the circular, NERD clearance is now a compulsory prerequisite for NYSC registration. Students should complete the process at nerd.gov.ng/onboarding or estmat.nerd.gov.ng/ai/enrot-v2.php, using their institutional clearance letter, project file, NIN, statement of result, and a valid email.
The university warned that students who fail to secure NERD clearance would not be mobilised for national service. It also urged prompt compliance, emphasising that no candidate without the clearance slip would be allowed to register at the NYSC orientation camps.
