FUOYE played host to the Faculties of Arts, Humanities Scholars Association of Nigerian Universities (FAHSANU)
The Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) hosted the 2025 edition of the Faculties of Arts/Humanities Scholars Association of Nigerian Universities (FAHSANU), recognising academic excellence, statesmanship, and contributions to Arts and Humanities education.
The conference, themed “Arts and Humanities in a Changing World”, brought together scholars from across Nigerian universities, who presented research papers on emerging topics in the field. Awards were presented in several categories, including platinum and gold.
Platinum recipients included Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Princess Olabisi Adanri, Oluwo-Nla Solagbade Popoola, Onímò Araba Famuagun, and Omooba Engr. Shyllon, while gold awards went to Sir Victor Olusegun Aigbogun, Hon. Femi Omosanya, Hon. Idowu Otetubi, Mr Victory Otoba, and Hon. Babatunde Dada.
Fellowship and lifetime membership awards were also given to prominent scholars, including Prof. B.T. Opoola, Prof. Rasaki Ojo Bakare, Prof. Dorothy Oluwagbemi-Jacob, Dr Edward Ugbada Adie, Hon. Aisha Adamu-Augie, and Prof. Hyginus Ekwuazi.
The conference also elected a new executive to lead FAHSANU for the next two years, with Prof. Bifatife Olufemi Adeseye appointed President. A highlight of the two-day event was a dance drama, Alajota, performed by FUOYE students.
In his acceptance speech, Prof. Adeseye pledged to leverage the association’s membership to strengthen the impact of Arts and Humanities scholarship across Nigerian universities.
