IHS Nigeria Limited has expanded its digital literacy and school connectivity programme to Abia State, training 100 teachers and heads of schools from 50 public schools.
The initiative, held last Wednesday in partnership with UNICEF’s School Connectivity programme and supported by the Abia State Government, also saw the distribution of 50 internet routers to participating schools. Director of Sustainability at IHS Nigeria, Titilope Oguntuga, said the project aims to bridge the digital divide and promote education at the grassroots. She stressed that in today’s world, digital literacy is essential for students to succeed and contribute to the economy.
The programme, which began in Osun State, is part of IHS Nigeria’s efforts to ensure internet access and technology-based learning across the country, enabling students to gain vital skills for the future.
