Kaduna State University (KASU) hosted the first in-house sensitisation workshop on “Artificial Intelligence: Fundamentals and Application in Laboratory Technology, Workshop and Studio in Tertiary Institutions” on October 14 2025.
Organised by the National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT), KASU Branch, the workshop brought together laboratory technologists, scientists, researchers, and postgraduate students at the University’s Multipurpose Hall, opposite the Vice-Chancellor’s Complex.
The event aimed to equip participants with practical knowledge on integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into laboratory and studio practices, highlighting its potential to improve efficiency, data analysis, and research outcomes in tertiary institutions.
NAAT KASU Branch leaders described the workshop as a timely initiative to bridge the gap between emerging AI technologies and traditional laboratory methods, emphasising the need for academic staff and students to adopt innovation in teaching, research, and practical applications.
Participants engaged in hands-on sessions, interactive demonstrations, and discussions on AI-driven solutions for laboratory management, research data processing, and experimental design, reflecting the University’s commitment to fostering technological advancement in higher education.
