The Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority (KSSQAA) has warned private school owners against increasing tuition fees without government approval.
The agency reminded proprietors that raising fees or upgrading schools requires express authorisation from the Director-General of KSSQAA, in line with existing regulations.
It said any proposed increment must meet certain conditions, including approval at a Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) meeting, with typed minutes and attendance records attached to the application. Proprietors are also required to provide reasons for the increase, enrolment figures, and a breakdown of old and proposed fees. The warning comes as the state government moves to reduce fees in its own schools.
