The Lagos State Government has reassured its commitment to educational excellence by honouring outstanding educators, students, and staff in Education District VI during the 19th Annual Merit Award Ceremony held recently at Ikeja Senior Grammar School, Oshodi.
The event, themed “Rewarding Excellence”, celebrated top performers across categories, including Best Principal, Teacher, School, Student, Non-Teaching Staff, Quality Assurance Officer, District Officer, Heads of Department, NGOs and Alumni groups who are impacting positively in the education district.
Special recognition was given to educators who creatively integrate technology into their teaching, advancing Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S Plus agenda.
Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Mr Tolani Alli-Balogun, emphasised that the awards serve as a motivator for proactive teaching and learning. “These recognitions show our teachers and students that their efforts are seen, valued, and rewarded,” he said.
