Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of new chairmen and members for the governing councils and boards of the state’s tertiary institutions, marking a renewed phase of leadership across key educational establishments.
The appointments, which take immediate effect, were announced on Thursday in a statement signed by the Governor’s Chief of Staff, Otunba Segun Ogunwuyi.
At the Oyo State College of Education, Lanlate, Comrade Olusegun Oyewumi was named Chairman. Other members include Alhaji Badmus Tajudeen Tunde, Mr Bamise Alabi, Saliu Alao Jimoh, and Babarinde Sunday Ademola.
Dr Amusan Damilare Gideon was appointed Chairman of the Oyo State College of Agriculture, Igboora. He is joined by Alhaji Salami Lateef Adebayo, Mr Oseni Abolade Olosun, Dr Adekunle Onile, Mr Kareem Adesina Rashid, Dr Saheed Adetunji Ige, Mr Joseph Oladapo Olaoye, and Mr Babatunde Akeem.
At The Polytechnic, Ibadan, Professor Lanre Nassar assumes the role of Chairman. Members of the newly constituted council include Prince Adeleke Akinboye Ajalah, Professor Odunola Olaitan Olutayo, Professor (Engr.) Mudasiru Lateef Owolabi, Mr Abduljelili Sunmonu, Engr Tajudeen Bello Olori, Mr Ogungbe Oludele Tunji, and Mrs Eniola Lucy Bola.
Dr Bisi Ojebola has been named Chairman of The Oke-Ogun Polytechnic, Saki, with the council comprising Mrs Mojisola Olufunmilayo Ajayi, Mrs Bose Morakinyo, Mr Adeyanju Noah Olusola, Hon Olajide Olusina Olatoye, and Mr Mudasir Niyi Salaam.
At the Oyo State College of Health Science and Technology, Eleyele, Ibadan, Dr Ganiyu Ajadi was appointed Chairman. Members include Mrs Dolapo Dosumu, Fatai Usman Bolaji, and Mr Bodunde Adeosun.
Governor Makinde congratulated the appointees and urged them to view their roles as a call to serve, stressing the critical responsibility they bear in advancing the quality and stability of tertiary education in the state.
The Chief of Staff reaffirmed that the appointments are effective immediately, reflecting the administration’s ongoing commitment to strengthening governance structures in Oyo State’s educational institutions.
