The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency and the Federal Ministry of Education have agreed to include drug education in the curricula of secondary schools. Both organisations have also decided to conduct compulsory drug integrity tests for students in tertiary institutions.
In a meeting between Dr Maruf Olatunji Alausa, the Minister of Education, and a delegation led by Brig. Gen Mohamed Buba Marwa (rtd), NDLEA Chairman/Chief Executive, said the issue of drug use is prevalent in Nigeria. He stated that the collaboration is a fight for the souls of the Nigerian children.
