Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf’s claim that Kano was the best-performing state in the 2025 NECO Senior School Certificate Examinations (SSCE) has been proven false.
Data released by the National Examinations Council shows that Abia, not Kano, recorded the highest pass rate in the internal examinations.
Governor Yusuf had earlier celebrated on his Facebook page, describing the alleged achievement as a direct result of his administration’s education reforms. However, official records have contradicted the statement from Kano.
The new revelation has raised concerns in some quarters about the accuracy of information shared by public officials, highlighting the need for fact-based reporting on educational outcomes.
