Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State

Governor Umaru Bago of Niger State has approved the immediate dissolution of the Niger State Universal Basic Education Board (NSUBEB), including the office of the board’s Secretary.

The announcement was made on Friday in Minna by the state’s Secretary to the Government, Abubakar Usman.

According to the statement, the move is part of the administration’s ongoing efforts to reposition and strengthen the state’s education sector, aiming for greater efficiency, accountability, and improved service delivery.

Governor Bago directed all members of the dissolved board, including the Secretary, to hand over official documents, assets, and responsibilities to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.

The governor expressed gratitude to the outgoing board members for their contributions to basic education in Niger State and wished them success in their future endeavours.

The dissolution comes amid wider reforms in the state’s education sector, with officials emphasising the need to improve management structures and ensure better outcomes for students at the primary and junior secondary levels.
