Olubadan-Designate Urges UI to Drive Research

The Olubadan-designate of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has called on the University of Ibadan (UI) to work closely with other research institutes in the city to fulfil its mandate and improve the lives of the people.

Oba Ladoja, who is also a former governor of Oyo State, gave this advice when the university’s management team, led by Vice Chancellor Prof. Kayode Adebowale, visited him to congratulate him on his designation as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

He reminded the team that Ibadan people had generously provided land for the establishment of several institutions, which have made the city a central intellectual hub in Nigeria. According to the Olubadan designate, UI must not rest, but continue to justify its premier status by leveraging this advantage and deepening its community impact.

Oba Ladoja pledged his support for the university in its quest to promote academic excellence. The Vice-Chancellor of the university thanked the Olubadan-in-waiting for his kind words and assured him of continued collaboration with the palace on cultural preservation and development initiatives.
