The Open Institute of Technology (OPIT), an online institution, has developed a new AI assistant called OPIT AI Copilot. This tool is made to help students in Africa learn more easily and quickly. It operates 24/7, allowing students to study at any time, especially those who also have jobs or family responsibilities.
Over 350 students from more than 80 countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya, already study at OPIT. The AI Copilot has learned from thousands of hours of lessons and examinations, enabling it to help students based on their progress in their studies. For teachers, it helps mark tests and prepare lessons, saving them time and effort. OPIT also plans to release a mobile app soon, allowing students to learn even with poor internet connectivity.
The AI was first shown at a Microsoft event in Milan. It is part of OPIT’s plan to make higher education more accessible and beneficial for students in Africa.
