The Osun State Government has dismissed speculation of a political rift, affirming its complete confidence in Deputy Governor Prince Kola Adewusi and Prof. Wale Oladipo, Chairman of the Osun State University Governing Council.
In a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Public Enlightenment, Oluomo Kolapo Alimi, the government described the recent incident in Ife Federal Constituency as a family matter within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that is already being resolved.
The statement emphasised that Adewusi and Oladipo remain loyal and committed party leaders whose integrity and contributions to the administration are unquestionable.
“By whatever yardstick, government still reposes strong confidence in him as the second in command to the governor. His position is not in any way affected by the controversy,” Alimi stated regarding Adewusi.
Similarly, the government reaffirmed Oladipo’s roles as a member of the PDP Board of Trustees and Chairman of the university governing council, adding that both men maintain a cordial working relationship with Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The government further commended the conflict resolution measures already taken by the state PDP leadership, stressing that the matter poses no threat to the stability of the administration.
