The Osun State Government has launched Imole Wi-Fi, a free internet service created to give students, businesses, and communities better access to the digital world.
According to the Commissioner for Information and Enlightenment, Kolapo Alimi, the project will open more opportunities in education, health, agriculture, and commerce. In the first phase, free Wi-Fi will be available at important places like the Osun State Library, Alphastart Hub, Osun Mall, Salvation Army Middle School, Osogbo Grammar School, and facilities under the Ministry of Innovation, Science, Technology, and Digital Economy.
Governor Ademola Adeleke described the programme as “a gateway to opportunity,” saying it will help break digital barriers and drive economic growth. Also, the Special Adviser on ICT, Azeez Badmus, said more locations and government services will be included in future phases, making Osun a model for digital inclusion in Nigeria.
The digital initiative has been praised as a bold step that will help build a more connected and empowered future for citizens of Osun State.
