Over 1,000 Apply for Jigawa Education Jobs

The Jigawa State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has received 1,156 applications for just 27 positions of Local Government Education Secretary across the state.

Chairman of the board, Professor Haruna Musa, disclosed this on Friday, adding that a Computer-Based Test (CBT) for shortlisted candidates will be conducted at the Federal University, Dutse. Out of the total applicants, only 274 qualified for the examination.

Professor Musa explained that the recruitment process aims to select competent individuals who can help improve basic education in the state. He said the new appointments would bring fresh ideas and strengthen school administration at the local level.

The chairman also noted that some current education secretaries had been accused of negligence, which led to poor teacher attendance and declining learning outcomes. He assured that the board is determined to ensure accountability and better supervision in Jigawa’s public schools.
