The Oyo State Government has shared about 18,000 tablets with public primary and secondary school teachers across the state’s 33 local government areas.
The intervention programme was initiated by the Global Partnership in Education, sponsored by the World Bank in partnership with the Universal Basic Education Commission and the Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board. Governor Seyi Makinde, through his deputy, Bayo Lawal, presented the tablets on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, to improve teaching efficiency and learning outcomes. He noted that the beneficiaries will undergo a mandatory four-week training to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to use the devices.
