The Radiographers Registration Board of Nigeria (RRBN) has called for a partnership with the National Universities Commission (NUC) to review the curriculum for radiography programmes in Nigerian universities.
The proposal was made during a courtesy visit to the NUC headquarters on Wednesday by a delegation led by RRBN Registrar, Professor Mark Chukwudi Okeji. He said an update was necessary to strengthen quality assurance and ensure graduates were better equipped for the demands of the healthcare sector.
Responding, NUC Executive Secretary Professor Abdullahi Yusufu Ribadu welcomed the proposal and confirmed the Commission’s readiness to work with professional bodies in maintaining academic standards. He noted that the request aligned with the Commission’s policy of reviewing university curricula every five years.
Both organisations pledged to collaborate on the review, stressing the importance of aligning academic training with the evolving needs of the healthcare industry.
