Rivers State University (RSU), Port Harcourt, has unveiled a new plan to position the school as one of the best in Nigeria, Africa, and the world. This was revealed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Isaac Zeb-Obipi, during the 2025 RSU Renaissance Retreat held from June 4 to 7.
Professor Zeb-Obipi stated that Rivers State University (RSU) must continue to improve to remain relevant in today’s world. He said the school needs to set higher goals, solve its problems, and work hard to become excellent. The university is planning to enhance teaching, provide better support to students, collaborate with other institutions, and facilitate the job search process for graduates.
He also stated that RSU aims to become one of the top three universities in Nigeria, a top 20 institution in Africa, and among the top 100 in the world. The Vice Chancellor asked all staff to support this dream with intense dedication. During a recent retreat, various faculty members led lectures, group discussions, and fun games. The Vice-Chancellor believes the ideas shared at the retreat will help RSU become a top-class university.
