The Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has awarded scholarships to 1,000 undergraduates from Kano State to pursue various courses at the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma, Katsina State.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ismail Mudashir, the award letters will be distributed to the beneficiaries in Kano on Saturday, September 20, 2025.

The scholarship scheme is being executed through the Barau I. Jibrin Foundation (BIJF), which focuses on promoting academic excellence and widening educational access for deserving students.

A matriculation ceremony for the beneficiaries will take place on Monday, September 22, at the Federal University, Dutsin-Ma.

This initiative builds on Senator Barau’s earlier interventions. Last year, he sponsored 70 students abroad for postgraduate studies in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Forensic Sciences, and other specialised fields.
