Solar Sister, a social enterprise dedicated to empowering women, has announced its plan to support 300 girls aged 11 to 14 in pursuing careers in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The initiative will focus on secondary schools in Kano, Oyo, Bauchi, Enugu, and Akwa Ibom.
In an address at a STEM project launch and stakeholder event in Abuja, Olasimbo Sojinrin, the Chief Executive of Solar Sister, stated that the organisation will continue to support women’s economic empowerment, energy access, and climate action across Africa. Ozemoya Okorodion, the Media and Communications Manager at ExxonMobil, stated that investing in young people through STEM education can help Nigeria thrive globally.
