The Sustainability Professionals Institute of Nigeria (SPIN) has inducted 96 new members during its 2025 induction ceremony held at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This marks the institute’s largest membership intake since its founding six years ago, bringing its total membership to 296 professionals across the nation.
Vice President of SPIN, Ini Abimbola, stated that the new members reflect the increasing importance of sustainability in Nigeria. She added that the institute is now working towards becoming a chartered body to guide sustainability practices better nationwide. The event also featured a keynote speech by Dr Louis Meuleman, who urged the new members to focus on local solutions for Africa’s development in the face of global challenges.
An honorary fellowship was awarded to Dr Segun Ogunsanya in recognition of his significant contributions to sustainable development in Nigeria and Africa, particularly through his leadership roles in this field.
